Python Core & Python for beginners are named as -> Introduction to Python? Does it mean that it's one and the same course? Or does it have different content & code coaches following along the lessons? CSS -> Introduction to CSS (means intermediate and advanced level are in queue). In activity feed I have seen some feedback from new learners (only had a screenshot of one for now to share). Based on their experience, the existing once are better than the upgraded ones. So, what's your feedback on new courses? Any course. Thank you for sharing info & thanks in advance for responding! Kind of testimony: 🤔 https://www.sololearn.com/post/1731178/?ref=app

Thank you D Shah 🎯⏳️ for sharing! And for the questions. Python Core is being split into Intro to Python and Python Intermediate. Python for Beginners is just becoming that Intro to Python. Any and all feedback on the courses folks should continue to comment on, send in to info@sololearn.com, all of that. We share all feedback we see with the content team so we can continue to improve. Overall we have seen a lot of positive feedback on the updated courses so I personally love hearing what works best for individuals and why, especially if a change isn’t as helpful or productive. Thank you again for sharing that post!

UPDATE: the courses will be closing soon, the official hard date has been pushed back as the team works on some minor settings not carrying over issues that have popped up. I still recommend completing any retiring courses and claiming those certificates as soon as you’re able! OLD INFO: The official date for the courses “going on vacation 🏕️” is April 18th, but we are giving a couple more days for users to wrap up any retiring courses — they will no longer be available at all on April 25.

D Shah 🎯⏳️ , my feedback on new courses is more positive than negative. I think that it is good to move from old to new. Feedback more precisely on new courses can b wound here: https://www.sololearn.com/post/1727190/?ref=app Another thing I don't like is when there is no blue line to indicate it is a code playground. The screenshot: https://www.sololearn.com/post/1731199/?ref=app As you can see, one block of code has a blue line, and the other one doesn't. If the one doesn't have a blue I would recommend removing the name of a programming language used because this small change in colour causes a small inconsistency (I am a bit of perfectionist)

And while i said it in your other question, i’ll repeat it here: The courses currently hidden are going to be hidden and hidden does not mean deleted. However, the top post says, these courses are hidden because they are becoming outdated and not fully compatible with our new engine so we are not actively promoting their content. Our attention is working on developing new and updated courses and we’d like to make sure we’re giving the best possible learning experience. So to answer your question again, no, they are not being deleted at this time. Hopefully this clears it up! Евгений

Евгений the broad reason for updating all the courses, is to reorganize the content and build the lessons and exercises in a consistent methodology, which gradually empowers the users. I think the idea is great, but the execution is very slow, and even at this speed the new content often still has many bugs. I guess SL content team is a little understaffed or has different priorities.

Bunny I know this is slightly offtopic, but does Sololearn have any plans to upgrade the playground compilers? Particularly with Java I really don't get why we use 16ea (early access) release when there is already java 21 stable out there, and the 17 LTS (long term support) release has been available for a long time. It would be great if the playground could keep up with language changes and new features a little more frequently.

Bunny, it is interesting. Apart from not adding new code coach challenges for the past years. I think sololearn should add many more code challenges

You’re welcome! And to answer your questions Mirielle : 1. This is an official update from Sololearn, by a Sololearn employee (hi! that’s me!). 2. Discuss is the only way to write an official update post that will be visible to all users, no matter the platform. Those activity feed pins you see sometimes and activity feed posts are only visible in the mobile app. 3. As you noted, there have been multiple questions about the new courses so we wanted to get a comprehensive list out somewhere easy to link to that all active users could see. Yes, this post will leave Trending and Hot Today eventually, but it will still exist and be easy to find. While I greatly appreciate that you want to ensure that Discuss stays focused on Questions & Answers, Sololearn updates from Sololearn employees are not considered “off-topic” — just for future reference. 😄

Hasnain [ACTIVE CHALLENGER] comments on the old lessons won’t be deleted but they will remain on the old lessons, they won’t show up on the new ones.

I hope so Noah Linaman ! The plan is to go through and update the courses both in format and in content. We also have a team working on a new course 🤫 that has been highly requested.

Lol a little offtopic yes, Tibor Santa but upgrading the code compilers is definitely on the list. I’ll check in to see where it is priority/ETA-wise.
