Why developers mostly setting the text editor as black theme?

Another reason: it saves batery on handheld devices.

Visual Studio in dark theme is just awesome. On top of being the most powerful IDE, it also looks great.

I think because it's way more eye catchy for them. It's cool. I personally to like it. And in the end they work in night usually so, it is more intense and easy. Lol. Don't really know the exact reason because I am newbie. (^_^) :V

To save eyes! Eyes would be tired of more brihtness sooner then of dark themes.

We were doing the C exam at college in the classroom there were 30 to 40 people before the exam started we all notice the same thing. Who the hell decided that a White theme is a good choice for coding in a exam? The ENTIRE class changed the theme to Black in a Matter of seconds After i raised my hand to the professor. I got the best score of the exam 27/30.
