Seeing the latest version of HTML recommendation was 5.2 this year it's a long way before 6.0 becomes available. https://www.w3.org/TR/html52/

HTML 6 isn't even being planned yet. Considering that HTML 4 was first published in Dec 1997 and HTML 5 was published nearly 17 years later in Oct 2014, I wouldn't expect HTML 6 anytime in the next decade. In fact, HTML 5 remained a draft for nearly 6 years with the initial working draft published in January 2008. Currently, HTML 5.1 and 5.2 are in working drafts. As you can see, these specifications historically evolve very slowly over many years of review.

I'm from the future and HTML7 is way underrated compared to HTML6...

@Nikky: It's unclear if the link posted to your Code Playground is your way of confirming HTML6 is here or just sharing predictions of what it could be. Also, your sources should be clearly visible at the top of the copied content so that it is obvious to others these aren't your words. Currently, your sources are posted as HTML hidden comments at the bottom of the HTML page: - http://www.azilen.com/blog/html6-and-css4-future-of-html/ - http://www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/reference/new-features-in-html6.html That said, it might be helpful to research this content a little more before posting it as a mashup of information. Neither article cites any formal sources for their information on HTML6 specs. Rather, the Azilen article (posted on Dec 10, 2013) takes a "peek into what possibly to expect from html6, and what is being talked about of the same." Likewise, the HTML Goodies article focuses on "popular predictions by several software providers and magazine writers." Another article (from Dec 4, 2014) explores similar topics of HTML6: - https://www.script-tutorials.com/a-look-into-html6-what-is-it-and-what-it-has-to-offer/ The end of this article reveals a clue in their concluding line, "HTML6 isn’t here yet. But an idea of what it will be offering has been provided by Oscar Godson." If you take a look at Oscar's updated comments in his repo on GitHub, it appears he was surprised by the traffic this 2011 article was getting: Source: https://github.com/OscarGodson/HTML6 (Updated on Dec 2, 2014): ------ "UPDATE: I copy pasted this years ago, from a blog I don't write at anymore. I first published this nearly three years ago. The site is getting a ton of traffic out of nowhere. I haven't updated this aside from minor typos since then. Seriously, it was just some random thing I did for fun one day. It's in no way a real spec and should not be taken seriously." ------ I hope this explains the confusion about HTML6 rumors.

@siddharth... Why not just post a link to www.html6test.com? Your code playground is simply an iFrame pointing to the website. Anyway, the html6test.com website is essentially version 6.0, an older version, of www.html5test.com. Currently, html5test.com is at version 8.0. Just because the domain contains the text "HTML6" doesn't make it HTML6. In fact, these websites, managed by the same person, are not affiliated with W3C or the HTML5 Working Group.

Will sololearn code playground do an update and allow HTML6? And what is the new declaration needed? <!DOCTYPE HTML> was HTML5 decoration. Now?

I heard about HTML 7 from a time traveler. Anyone else have info on this? LOL 😉 @Ahri Fox On a serious note, I would love to hear where people are hearing about HTML 6. Perhaps these sources can provide some credible information on unicorns, Big Foot, and pixie fairies. 😂

FYI - I just found that one of my answers here was posted almost verbatim on Quora.com by someone else: - https://www.quora.com/Are-they-preparing-HTML-6/answer/ARMAAN-28?srid=a40x I'm clarifying this now in case I'm later accused of plagiarism.
