Increment & Decrement

Can someone please really explain these to me with examples?

Increment counts up and decrement counts down.
Besides the default of 1 you can also add 2, 3, 4, 5 or whatever you like to a number.
It is mostly used in databases to auto generate primary keys or incremental games.
