it will never be equal to pattern because it is going through text one character at a time therefore it cannot equal 3 characters

ok so i dont know how to make it count overlapping patterns however if it dosnt overlap just use

print(text.count(pattern)

ill see if i can do overlapping patterns but i cant make promises
