I would go for C++ or JavaScript. You will find many similar things. Plus you will be more competitive in challenges ;)

It depends on what you want to do with your new knowledge! If you want to go further with JAVA, you might want to work with SQL. It will allow you to interact with databases and make more complex app in java (or android) !
Good luck for your next course, congrats on JAVA! :))

I advise you to pick up C++, which shares many aspects of both semantics and syntax with Java, as I myself I had the possibility of verifying by embarking upon the C++ course shortly after completing the Java's.

I would try to use c++ if you want to advance and learn more about memory usage. It helps at least for me.

If you wanna go on learning Java you may have a lot of things to learn, but it depends on what kind of programs you wanna make. If desktop, web, mobile, embedded (iot)... As some people suggest you should try to learn how to connect your program with database, how to make an UI (the visual)... This kind of things you can do with frameworks. (there's a lot of them. You may choose what best fits your needs.)
