Hacking is mostly illegal, but you can do it for cyber security stuff. C++ is a must, Java/C#/Python is recommended but optional. Learn SQL for database injections. HTML/CSS/JS for webpage control/management.

@devilfox not really. If you were to become a white hat hacker you would need to know those things. Even if you were to go into cyber security. It's all on what you do with the knowledge. But if your going to practice penetration testing make sure you have the permission of whoever your pen testing before you do it

An understanding of several different languages will help you out in the long run. If you absolutely had to stick to a single language, I would suggest C++ or Python. I do not suggest sticking to just knowing one language, though. In the end, it's all about researching your target.

I've hacked without coding, I hacked Amazon twice in 2000 and they sent me a letter. I've created viruses in VBA if that's a start, worms et al

Hacker isn't related to you will be a good or a bad person. Hacker means that you have a great knowledge in some area. If you born and can draw fantastic things without learned drawing techniques before, you are a native hacker in drawing skills. The same occurs in computer, music.. if you sit down and know how to do easily in software or program language that you never heard before, you maybe be a native hacker and you got all easily. If not, all will be very harder for you. Know who you are is the most important step. Best wishes
