Sorry but that is not how gabbage collection works and Java is native to android before the program runs the first thing that happens the compiler check for any variable not used or initialized it removes it, it only in a case of network or when Java is trying to write to a file or connect to a resource like network or a server that it does that at runtime and when it see that a resource is open but not used it either crash or try close it if a finally block is added but Java 8 brought in a new feature called try with resources so now the compiler becomes more faster and smarter if a resource is not used the compiler closes it by it self and it done before the blink of your eye lid the program never stop for Gabbage collection cause it happens before runtime
