Why this dosent work?

I have the IDs with divs and sections and a button then I put in JQuery:

$(“#TheDivThatIsShow”).hide
$(“#TheDivThatIsHide”).show

$(document).ready(function() {
$(“#TheDivThatIsShow”).show
$(“#TheDivThatIsHide”).hide
