Is creating an Operating software like windows, linux very difficult task for an good programmer?
I just thought why there are less operating softwares like windows ,Mac, Linux etc. Because I don't see any new products coming into market frequently like other softwares do.

Well, there are much more OS than you think, but they are mostly not for typical users. They are used for Servers (like BSD), embedded chips or super computers, though obviously linux with it's over 500 distributions and embedded systems (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1b/Linux_Distribution_Timeline.svg/2820px-Linux_Distribution_Timeline.svg.png ) dominates those markets. Linux itself is just the core (kernel) of an OS, but many distributions build on it to create their OS. Meanwhile I'd even say that creating and maintaining a linux OS can be made by a simgle programmer.
