You cannot work with just PHP, while working with it, learn JavaScript, jQuery and learn AJAX to add, delete, update and change data without refreshing the page then learn bootstrap and frameworks of php like laravel

Use PDO instead of mysqli. Learn a framework like Drupal (or do what Mohit the coder (M.S.D) suggested).
