iam an undergraduate of 1st year btech ece

Mini John , amazon was and is aggressively hiring in India for many positions,

4 students were picked from my college 1 years back for internship, 2 ended up joining full time.

All 4 were , academically inclined, had good GPA s, and most importantly were serious members of coding clubs from 1st and 2nd year itself.

they cracked the technical rounds, had a good portfolio with many group projects( excluding the mandatory academic ones).

they took problem solving with programming seriously and in final year their efforts paid off,
