...that are like classical 3GLs (imperative, like c++)
...like I believe it's intended to be used (declarative, nearly 4GL)

Justin Miller I didn't come back here because there wasn't follow-up from you (and you weren't @mentioning me), but the package manager (yum) for Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora and other RPM-based linux OS's has been in Python for maybe two decades. Yum's replacement (DNF) is Python (to be converted to C), Gentoo's package manager is Python, ....etc
(Many popular websites are based on Python for the web, but I wanted to keep it just to an internal software category above)

Yes, im making my own reverse_tcp shell in python2 and you can rewrite other exploits from ruby to python.

Dmitriy , Actually MS was written in perl then recoded in ruby I think we should know perl , ruby and python and explore their own functionalities pros and cons
