Will html be relevant in the next 20 years?

So when I firstly started computing I really wanted to make a website like the one razer has. With cool css styling and other cool things. But now I don't find it as fresh or new. I'm really curious to see your opinion because I definetly don't have enough arguments to sustain my point.

I can pretty much guarantee that it will. Probably with more updates too.

Your new perspective on the site you used to admire might also be because of your gained knowledge of the scripts. That is, some of the magic has disappeared now that you know how it works. I had not thought about the relevancy of HTML in the future, but Igor Makarsky, ArtemisAthena456, and Jan Markus all make valid points. HTML is really more like a framework for web anyways, hosting many other scripts (CSS, JS, PHP) and that will likely continue being the case. New scripts may come along, but HTML will adapt and support those as well.

Corb Vlad: "Yeah it may evolve and get better but will we still use websites in the future? or will html be used to do other things than websites?" I was also pondering this. It would take a complete move to VR, which would more than likely be programmed using actual code instead of script, to eradicate HTML use. Though, even then, I'm inclined to believe that there will be the obsolete web still hanging around for us old fogeys. Or maybe some of the script languages that we learn for web use will also be used to "beautify" the VR codes...

Yes it will. It maybe more complexed then it is now. New jobs will be created like Content Structure Engineer who only deal with putting together the web design in photoshop and the putting it together in html and css in a way that you barely have to use the back end. “I made the job name up but I hope you get the point” It will continue to grow and sooner or later the term unicorn developer may fade away as we may have to specialize in certain areas.
