Mobile web applications, like SoloLearn, involve both web development and mobile app development. Mobile devices and desktop/PC will co-exist for at least another 2 centuries. The only factor hindering you from your bright future appears to be you putting too much thought into what to learn instead of starting to learn directly. If you are really concerned in spite of its triviality, learn both.

Depends on the use case, If you wish to target all platforms then go with web, Advantage: No need to worry about different platforms i.e Android, ios, window. Disadvantage: mobile experience can be improved using features Like PWA, but it still has limitations on native support. Making processor intensive apps like games, editors are not advised with web apps. If looking to make apps with very nice user experience on phones then go with Mobile app development. Advantages : Awesome native support. Customization for devices/platform. And yes mobile usage is growing rapidly so is the demand for Developers. Disadvantages: will have to do separate development to target other mobile platforms. Regarding bright future, I personally observed that in mobile dev there are 2 extremes, highly paid, in demand devs and underpaid abundant mobile devs. whereas in web dev theres an even distribution from Beginners to Experts, seriously under paid designers to crazy highly paid fullstack devs.
