Programming + cyber security - relevance

in every day cyber security are programming languages relevant? are they used? if so what for? understandably input!

can't have cybersec without coding. there are data forensics programs of numerous kinds. holes in security are patched constantly but to find new holes changes to techniques have to happen which means updates to current (ethical) hacking software or even completely new softwares have to be developed.

also you might not like how some programs scan or need to do something specific at certain times in which case good scripting languages like python will come in major handy.
