Can I store a Variable in a list?

Question

I m creating a program where the user will input the content of a list and just asking if a variable can be store in a list. If not how can I do this, how can I store user input inside of a list?

you can do this:
a=1
b=2
c=3
list = [input (), a, b, c]
print (list)
OR
a=input ()
b=1
c=2
list=[a, b, c]
print (list)
