Why doesn't my code run in a longer program than a shorter one?

Question

Wrote a code and it runs perfectly well when it's by itself, but when I copy the code exactly into a longer code, that section doesn't run the same. I'm not sure whether it's the existing code in the longer program has affected it or it ran out of memory(doesn't seem possible though). The section that went cuckoo is with the "while" loop. What could have cause the problem?
