There are several hacking competitions,so what are the requirement,for successfully accomplishing the task?

I mean what is the knowledge required.
Is there a requirement of certain language ?

For hacking, you're bestbet is to be well-versed with languages from different areas. SQL is needed for a SQL injection attack, Python is good for DOS attacks, Java/C++ is good for general application, et cetera. Hell, even Ruby has an application here.

EDIT: Kali Linux is also an incredible tool. I figured I would include it here incase you haven't heard of it.
