The basics are normally learned by practice. Use the programming language a lot and you should be able to remember the things you need every time quite easily. I personally use the sololearn lessons to look up how everything works when I forget how something works, until I can remember it without looking it up.
There are things that are a lot more complex and more difficult to remember, but in that case both sololearn with lessons and this Q&A section as well as other websites can help.
If possible try to input a few keywords or a question into a search engine and if you're lucky, something like stack overflow (stackoverflow.com) for example might pop up where someone asked your question and if you're lucky, there is an answer already. If not, add that question yourself. Now you can only hope, someone else will read and answer it.

If you learn according to your pace and code your own programs (not necessarily very complex) every now and then, it will come automatically. Plus, once you have learned one language, you can easily learn another language. Even if you are stuck, you can always ask in a forum or search your problem online. You will realize that many people are willing to help you and many a times the question will already be answered.

Two answers:
1. We don't remember all stuff. There are plenty of things we look up because we haven't used it in awhile.
2. We practice a lot. It's not that different than riding a bicycle or swimming or playing an instrument.
