Motivational advice
how do you guys/gals do it? what motivates you to code? im easily bored even with subjects i truly enjoy, i find it hard to focus or even open the app. i mostly just read, havent really played around with the code playground. Ive always wanted to do something regarding computers like computer engineer or it tech so i figured i would try out c+ but man being an uber noob and my short attention span when i have to read alot makes it hard to keep picking it up. im trying out other subjects like html js and python but it feels more like a chore. anyone been in my shoes and have some advice? my apologies for a long paragraph lol

I think, for staying motivated it works best to successively follow little goals, where the goal line is in sight!
You think about what kind of code you could ALMOST do with your skill right now - and then you get to work, solving this one problem, researching the bits you don't know.
And when that job's done, you make up another one. And so forth.
If you can't concentrate for long, you could as well work with multiple shorter working sessions over the day.
Nothing wrong with getting a broader perspective, but if your ressources are limited, I would concentrate on one language at a time.

Janning⭐ its uh how u say recreational my state still says its illegal blah blah blah.
HonFu you have a good point there. i was really into the c++ and html courses taking notes etc but i get to ahead of my self. its like i have the wood and brick to build a home but i wanna add pizza ovens, pool, jaccuzzis, etc.
i will finish up my javascript and html courses since they are somewhat easier to learn then i will go back to c++ and go from there.

I hope you do understand that all the languages you tagged have different purposes and approaches (I believe you really ment c++, not c+). The best motivation is having a vital problem to solve, otherways it won't work.
Unless you have a conscious necessity to optimize something with your programming skills, all this stuff will be nothing more than a non-obligatory non-motivational hobby.

@james i smoke pot and pot accessories lol i used to take ritalin but didnt rwally like the side affects.
strawdog yes i ment c++. reason i tagged them is becuase i keep reading to learn multiple languages even though some are "almost the same" like java and the c language some aspects are the same. im using this to GAIN "programmimg skills" i have 0 as of now... i would love to creatw my own custom mods for my games or like ive been pondering to create my own custom os for my android phone. but i dont even know how to use cmd/adbpush commands other then chkdsk or netuser commands. i guess ive just always lacked that drive that pushes ya foward. idk

Maybe consult your doctor for a different type of marijuana or for advice about when it would be okay to lay off it. Seems like concentration would be vital to learning anything new.
