What are some good ways to learn from videos?

There are a ton of instructional videos out there, on sololearn and elsewhere. How can you best learn from these, use what they have, and retain the info?

If the video is walking you through a code you can write it and make a tweak right there. Run it and see what your change did.

Be ready to hit pause on the video. I suggest you hit pause when you want to take a note or to write code snippets in your IDE.

Practice. Don't just stare at the screen like a dumbo, do it yourself as well.

Seems like they used videos from youtube that were for free on youtube itself, but they were a part of paid lessons of other sites (like Lynda.com), so some fellows (the users of those paid resources) didn't like this kind of usage (inspire of the fact that creators of those videos themselves got much more views of their videos), and now the creators of this wonderful sololearn course are forced to delete the ability to watch videos from their courses... What a pity...
