While Python can be more user-friendly than Java, as it has a more intuitive coding style, both languages do have their unique advantages for developers and end users. However, if you are just beginning your path towards a programming career, you might want to start by learning Python, as it is less complex.

The fact that Java is statically typed meaning you have to declare the name of your variables and return types of your functions results in more code written. Same goes for the fact that Java code is encapsulated in classes too makes it seem harder.
Java isn't so much complicated. Just the learning curve is slightly steeper because there's more upfront while Python abstracts some of that from you.
Don't let that steer you away and even then languages are tools try to learn to actually program. No matter which you start with, sick with it.
