What do you think is better to focus on Python or R for an aspiring data analyst?

There might be some jobs that require R, but in general I'd say that Python is a must and R isn't. Also, R is super easy to learn if you know Python (and especially numpy). Whereas Python has hundreds of features that can't really be implemented in R. That's my personal impression, I can't guarantee that everyone will agree with it.

Compared to python, R has a large number of libraries which can make data analysing easier. It is more powerful than Excel too!
Also there are many libraries in R which can make use of data in Excel.
So if you are focusing on statistics and data analysing R would be better. But in other cases python would be better
