Practice your new skill with simple stuff (quotes collection, contact for, etc.). Then learn CSS and JavaScript, and work with small projects. By then, you should be good to go.

Just writing a website with HTML won't be that great. Ideally you'd want to learn CSS for styling the HTML elements and JavaScript for more functional things such as doing something when you click a button. You can learn them all here at sololearn. 😊

Try out something like a restaurant management system. If you only know HTML, lay out the basic design of all the possible pages you could think of, valid to the website. You can carry forward with the CSS, JS,PHP part once you learn them Good luck

As far as web design is concerned, you will need to learn CSS (which is the styler). But if you want extra practice, it may be helpful to practice the HTML skills that you have learned, so that you will retain what you have learned so far. Practicing what you have already learned, will help you build on the knowledge and apply it for learning CSS (instead of getting CSS mixed up with HTML).
