Need some feedback on my plan to learn JavaScript

I pretty much have a good grasp on both HTML and CSS. So I'm working on a small website. After I'm done with all the HTML and styling with CSS, I plan to add additional functionality to it with JS. I've completed the course here on JS but I haven't started building with it. Do you think building with it on a basic website is a good approach to practicing and increasing knowledge in JS?

Completes JS course here? Congrats! But I think before building with it on a basic website, you must get enough hands-on with it. For example, you can create some simple games or may be some other stuffs just on your way to learning. And I think, actually that way worked for me, that'd be beneficial for you when you'll go with your basic website or may be with advanced websites in the future. JS course on SL is good but they only give you glimpse of the content. I believe, doing while learning will be more beneficial. If you want you can refer once to MDN's JS course, it was helpful for me, to get better experience with JS. Here's the link: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn/JavaScript
