There isn't at the moment.
The only way you can leave and come back without getting a timeout, is if there was a network problem during the challenge that caused the challenge to cease.

That way, even if you close the app and reopen, it'll start from where you stopped with no timeout.

But remember that's only possible if the challenge halts due to network issues, not deliberately leaving the challenge
