Good question. I sometimes look at some of the people I follow and ask myself "why am I following these people?"

Actually the following button turns into a messaging button once you follow someone. You can unfollow in their profile with the three dot menu on the top right. There is an unfollow option (android at least)

Yes you can, just tap on the Following button in their profile and you won’t be following them anymore.

Might be different between iOS and Android? I think messaging is an Android feature, so the Message option shouldn't show up in the iOS version (unless the iOS version got updated and I missed it).

You can always unfollow a learner. The option is in their profile.

Tap the “Following” Button to Unfollow
after that it should say “Follow”

Go to his/her profile and tap on the "Following" button. It should now say "Follow".
