The answer largely depends on the line of business and the size of company. If it is a tech company, you are heading towards systems integration work. If it is a non tech, you are headed towards managerial work.

A Development Manager typically focuses on project management, team leadership, and ensuring that development processes align with business objectives. They are responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of software projects. This role requires strong leadership skills, an understanding of project management practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and stakeholders. An Architect, on the other hand, is more focused on the technical direction of projects.
