Why Python is becoming so popular when it is not so easy for me to build an app and deliver it like I can in other languages?

Read this description, so you can better understand my point, please. When I was studying (20 years ago) I was programming in Fortran, C++ and vbscript. Then after all this years I manage somehow to work mostly in Microsoft programming languages. That didn't produce any difficulties to me in sense of getting work to do, I always had something to do in those programming tools (Microsoft based). Now the first time I wanted to make a website for myself and put it online I face a first issue: there was no (cheap) hosting on Microsoft platform. So I decided to go with a php framework. I choose codeigniter and learned to use it over few weeks. Now I don't want to go to wide with this, but is it really so easy to build a desktop app (in Python) like with Delphi or Visual Studio? Is it really so easy and available (accessible) for us to build a web app in Python and find a web hosting for it? I also read that Google is using Python and does it means that we also have to use it then? Thanks

I believe the hype with Python is more among learners. Outside of data scientists, devops, and a few isolated, high profile case studies, I've still not gotten any sense that Python has gained any serious traction for commercial or enterprise application development. While my own experiences and that of those in my rather large developer network are anecdotal, I still haven't gotten even a hint of anyone considering Python for any mission critical development applications. I've commented on this in many other threads in SoloLearn. Here are 2 links I've tracked down worth reviewing. I recommend sorting those by date and reviewing all the comments. https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/1271116/?ref=app https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/1157032/?ref=app

The main reason python is so popular it is easy and this can be use in every IT field. Like web development, desktop applicatio, games development,AI,machine learning etc. Even a kids can also learn python very fast and in easy way. Python mostly used for AI and machine learning. Why python mostly used in AI remember that AI is also very complex thing. mechanism of AI is very hard and complex if we use very complex languages like c++ ,java and other AI become more complex which is very hard and things become more complex, more extra time will be required and AI can be become slow but python is solution due to its small syntax and very useful functions.and it can be learn in small time so that's why mostly python used in AI but other languages are also used because python is not fast but in small amount.mostly AI project done with python.

I understand that Python community is huge, and Google supports it, and I see many of you are young (just guessing) which all contributes more for you to follow it and I don't mind, but please read my while description before answering. That's why now I've changed the question title. I think you are not reading my description and not getting my point, thank you all

Thank you David Carroll for clearing this matter more. It is important for us to understand real market needs regarding languages especially if you are a freelancer before you invest your time in it. And I am sure that having Google behind it will help Python to have more market value over time.

Python is popular due to how easy it is. Python is easy to read, compared to other languages, It's Syntax is easy, and it is possible to code (almost) anything real quick with python. Also python has thousands of libraries, can be used on the backend (using Django or flask) - And is used by technological giants like Google and Facebook for projects, and in their API's.

I personally like python because it is easy to pick up. It has a very large community and it has recently become the go-to language for fast development and testing of AI algorithms.

People like python because it is more English based and further away from machine Language. This makes it easier for people to understand and pick up quickly. People like easy things even if they make things harder down the line because they rarely think so far ahead.

python is becoming popular because a bunch of people use it. think of it this way, the game fortnite comes out and not that many people play it at first. then, people tell other people and they start playing the game. repeat that over and over and theres your answer. your welcome.
