When a Sololearner that I haven't talked to sends me a private message, why do I only see the Accept/Decline buttons for some?

What are the rules that govern the ability to accept/decline a message from someone you haven't communicated with before? Do I only see this feature if a non-follower of mine sends me a message for the first time? Do I not see the buttons if the person sending me a message is a follower?

Looks like for IPhone users the best way of achieving near 1-1 communication is via comments in private codes still.

I have not had a situation where I did not have the option to accept / decline except when I am invited to groups. I would be surprised if everyone who has ever messaged me followed me first (since I don't think it would be the opposite where everyone who ever messaged me had messaged me before they followed me), so if it turns out that there is a difference based on this condition and it's reproducible (expected behavior for everyone?) maybe the people I have neither accepted nor declined will use this knowledge to require my attention. 😅

•If a person is the one whom you dont follow messages you ,
•You get the option of accept / decline .
•When a person messages you first time , whom you follow .
•Then you won't get that option of accept / decline ...

Click on a profile, click on follow --> the follow button changes to "message" --> click on it.
Or click on a profile, click the three dots in the upper right corner --> click on message

I only saw this button twice.
The first time someone followed me and wrote me a message. I accepted, but had to follow him first to answer.

The second time I was followed by one, again I was not a follower of him. Since the one wanted to have a code written, I refused.

So I think, the button appears only if a follower of you, writes you a message, but you do not follow him.

I never tried it but I think it is possible to write a message without following.

That's a possibility Denise Roßberg . Can non followers also send you private messages? I think they still can.

Heather you must be using an Apple device. IOS apparently still does not have this feature as Candyopoly said.
