Are there any sololearners who have used COBOL at any stage in their life?
I have heard that legacy systems in the insurance industry used to be a heavy user of COBOL and As400 systems.

Financial industries (banking & stock) also have many legacy Cobol systems. I know other industries have used it, but suspect that they have transitioned to other languages because their systems were small.

We used AS-400 at one of the nonprofit locations that I worked for (prior career) before they transitioned to a more modern (relatively speaking) UI for their membership database. I used it to register participants and pull class rosters.
There were not many colors.

There were some people mentioned in the following post but not exactly anyone directly in the Sololearn community I think.

I have been programming cobol(veryant version) for an insurance company for 1 year. Cobol was mostly used for the front-end of the application. But during compilation it was actually turned into some kind of java swing interface. The veryant version even allowed us to implement java objects into the cobol code like yodatime etc.
The main reason they didnt go full java was because they had a lot of trouble finding new colleagues, so all those 50+ guys where only used to cobol. Else they would have switched to full java years ago i bet.
