Practice, practice, practice. Read tutorials and practice the examples, examine other's codes and imitate them. Read tech blogs and be up- to-day about new features/ frameworks of your favorite language. And practice again, each week, daily.

You dont necessrily need a menotor. You can ask sololearn or look up some stuff online. and oractice the things you learn. Im the same way; Im beginner to javascript and im just looling at some simole codes and try to understand it.
