To answer that question is important to know if you have previous knowledge in programming.
If you know the basic concepts like functions, variables, data types, loops, conditionals, algorithm design, and a grasp on OOP (object oriented programming) I can say 4 or 5 months if you work hard.
Else, maybe a year or so.

I'm not a native English speaker either. We have things a little more complex because we need to learn English in order to learn a programming language but it is possible. Just work hard (that is the part when the majority gives up and fail).

Focus, work hard. Also, do a research on everything you don't understand, Google is an awesome tool.

Do you know Unity? Technically is a game engine, you will need to program the game, don't worry is not that easy. Unity is to videogames like Visual Studio is to Windows apps.

If you want to make a game from scratch you will need to create a game engine by yourself and that, my friend, takes a lot of time and effort, maybe years (and is very difficult doing it by yourself alone). Many big companies work on C++ in order to create a complete game engine...but it may be almost every language (my knowledge on this is limited).

Do a Google research (or YouTube), search for Unity and give it a try. I'm sure it has what you looking for.
