I would recommend to understand what you intent to find out. If you want to learn how to analyze data, read the book above. Shi has a basic knowledge of math statistics and talk about the neural network. Now neural networks are used in all large analytical projects and request knowledge of it from an analyst.
And for work with big data you need to know about using the data model and relationship between data.
As beginning i recommend learning SQL language and download MS SQL server Express. After studying you can go to cloud servers.
