Is it necessary to learn jquery for web development in upcoming years?
I've searched about it and found out JQuery usage is declining constantly. I've also read Bootstrap is going to replace JQuery. So, can I skip JQuery and learn in-depth Bootstrap instead?

jquery sucks and is pointless. so is bootstrap. might as well just use drag and drop web builder.
BUT..the fact is..because many sites used jquery and bootstrap..its very good to know for maintaining already built sites.
many employers do not want to start from scratch..so need you to know these things
as a developer doing things from scratch though..dont use them because there are wat better things to use now and the future needs to not be reliant on such frivolous libraries

You can skip jQuery , you can even skip Bootstrap. They are not the must learn, must use components now.
I would advise you to learn well in pure JavaScript especially ES6, you would build wonder web components/websites from there.
Shine Bright I have built many websites for my clients and i have over 2000 web codes on my code playground (public + private), but i do not know jQuery and Bootstrap, in fact i bulld my own version of jQuery and Bootstrap.

Calviղ ChillPill Thank you all for replying. It means alot.
ᐺ ! ᖇ † ᒪ has given some strong points for not using JQuery. I assume most of the task achievable by jquery can also be achieved by using js. I feel sometimes beginners spends more of their time learning something which is not that much essential(Jquery) and end up gaining less knowledge of the actual thing(js). So, I'm going to brush up my skills on js for now.
But, I also feel people should get knowledge of jquery to understand the work of old developers. You should give it less priority though. It solely depends on what kind of area you would be working in. If you are creating new websites then certainly you will not require jquery. However, if you are working in an area where they want you to modify old websites that involves jquery then definitely jquery is must. Also, you should keep in mind that as developers are discouraging the use of jquery so it is less likely you would be modifying codes that involves jquery at all.

🇮🇳King🇺🇸Daniel🇫🇷 ChillPill and Jason Kennedy Thank you all for taking your time out and replying. I appreciate it.
As for the question, I came to this conclusion that Jquery as well as Bootstrap is still in use and we should learn it both if we wanna survive as a developer. Atleast, that's what I think now.
Any suggestions are always welcome.

Shine Bright My opinion is that many developers waste their time with learning everything about jquery while they should be expanding their pure javascript knowledge and/or learning a modern js framework with lots of options like angular or react. I have to disagree with ChillPill ‘s view on jquery (I believe jQuery is dead in modern web development). And yes, jquery is helpful in some situations (I dont think its completly useless) there are way better options than jquery

Nowadays, It is not necessary to learn Jquery for the web development. You can use js instead of that and js can perform much better than jquery.
