If i lose a challenge, how much xp do i lose?

I did a challenge badly, but i don't feel like cancelling it(if it is possible).

The last time I checked, the amount of XP that your would lose is equivalent to

32 - winning XP - bonus XP

where the winning XP is indicated at the start of each challenge, and bonus XP is 1 for each question you get correct.

Say for example you were supposed to win 12XP, but you lost by 3:5, you would lose

32-12-3 = 17XP

I think the winning xp also depends on the difference in xp in the weapon between you and your opponent.
