It is worth for me to change job??? Help...

Im study mech engineering for these past years. I dont know but I think im very eager to learn computer programming than learn mech stuff. But im stuck with my course. Already have job related to my field but still didnt enjoy my job. Its like I work just for money but not for myself.

Question is it really worth for me to learn computer programming/web developer, starting from the scratch, dropping my qualification.. As i feel like I want to pursue this path.. And would like to know where do i start, what kind of jobs for this field, will employer hire me even my qualification isnt related.. Hmmm
