Mark Newland, with all due respect, this is what social media is all about: getting social. The SoloLearn engine encourages people to follow each other, so basically, that's what they do on a daily basis. I'm trying to follow all the suggested peer coders to make sure I have as many challenges as possible to sharpen my skill.
At the same time, I do respect your privacy, as well as your right to complain, so don't hesitate to remind me if I accidently follow you again by mistake.
Here is an example of aforementioned suggestion, in case you'd like to know how it looks like: https://s23.postimg.org/yw3y2a9xn/Screenshot_2017_01_30_07_10_30.png

Is SoloLearn Q&A becoming reddit now?

But I didn't know this was a place for advertising. No offense.
And I love how you come up with a great reply for 18 minutes.

Leon, by saying 100 hours I actually mean: "It will take about 100 hours to restore everything from scratch to the current state, with the current team". In fact, it took a lot more than 10 days because you never work 24/7. Even 8/5 schedule is far from reality. Typically you can be productive like 4 hours a day. The rest of the time you usually spend planning, discussing things or simply staring out of the window.
Speaking of art, the most time-consuming task sketching. The resulting character sprites and atlases may take 30 minutes to draw. But to get there an artist could easily spend 10 hours sketching like crazy. Currently, there are two main characters, five creeps and four power-ups in the game. Add background sprites and visual effects and you'll get around 100 hours of intensive artistic work.
Lastly, the Facebook product page. To create one, sign in to your FB profile as usual, then click the small down-arrow at the top right corner. You'll be presented with the list of options, one of which reads "Create Page". Here you go! The next steps are quite self-explanatory. Also, you can simply follow this link to get the same result: https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/

Hi, Cheeze! Your question is precisely the point of introducing the Facebook page. Here on SoloLearn, we'd like to focus on development-related topics: such as Unity tips and tricks, code snippets and such. At the same time, people often come with brilliant ideas and suggestions we'd never want to miss. Also, sometimes it is necessary to have an extended conversation to learn more from a valuable reply.
That's why we believe it is a good idea to have a Facebook page: to keep SoloLearn Q&A section techier, while still letting followers express their thoughts and share ideas.

Howdy, Leon! Thank you for staying tuned. As for now, It took us roughly 100+ hours of pure drawing/coding to pull everything together. Set aside all those countless hours spent on walking/talking/doing (seemingly) nothing. Sometimes you can spend a whole day having no idea on how to fix a bug/implement a feature... then - boom! - out of a sudden you get an insight and close the task in 15 minutes.
Speaking of the controller, it has been improved. Someone would say it is way better than the old one, but we are still collecting feedback. You're welcome to share your opinion and suggestions.
In the meantime, we're working on the pause menu, which will let you (among other things) to customize the UI. This is one of the most requested features.

We, the Shootan team, do believe we can make an impact by inspiring beginner programmers to set higher goals. One day you learn how to make a for-loop, another day you build a team and start coding a newborn game. The Q&A section is definitely not for advertising, that's why we decided to establish a Facebook page: to market the Shootan at the proper place. Here at SoloLearn Q&A section, we'll focus on the technical discussion while helping others to learn Unity and programming in general.

Hi, MrCoder! Thanks for asking. The Shootan is built using Unity thus it is written in C#. We're on the verge of introducing the destructible obstacles to the game. Once it is done, please kindly consider participating in the process of building such obstacles, each of which involves a good deal of coding to describe its behaviour.
Feel free to message me on Facebook to get in touch.
