yaman sahu Google has made Kotlin a first class citizen for Android development to begin to eventually distancing themselves from Java. I believe this is more to do with legal issues with Oracle, but also, because Java has really failed to live up to its potential after all these years. Trust me, I've been working with Java since the late 90s and have seen it stagnate. Fuzzy Squid I have this theory that people who love Java don't realize what they are deprived of from much better languages like C# and Kotlin. If you are intrigued and want to learn more about both C# and Kotlin and how much Java really stinks by comparison, check out this post and the linked video. https://www.sololearn.com/post/117714/

Yabets Fasil and Abdulbasit Muhammad Aliyu Nice... I'm glad to see some people with differing opinions. I'm assuming you're praising Java over Kotlin because you've built Android Apps in both languages and are speaking objectively from personal experiences. That said, I'd love to hear more about your experiences. In what ways, for your, was Kotlin lacking where Java was superior? Were there any redeeming aspects about Kotlin that are worth sharing? If so, what are they? And finally, how wide is the gap between these two languages? In other words, is Java so far ahead that Kotlin doesn't have a chance of ever catching up or are the two languages really close in strengths and weaknesses? I'm looking forward to your enlightening feedback. 😉👌🙏🤞🤓

Fuzzy Squid yes C# and Kotlin are giving Java a run for its money but I wouldn't call Java outdated for many more years just because of the massive number of Applications that are already developed in Java.
