Why does the hot today section shows code which is 2-3days old

Question

I've updated the app and seeing that my 3day old code is at 6th position on hot today.

Is there any new rule for the hot today section.?
If so please tell.
Any help will be appreciated

If it was hot yesterday or day before, it could still be hot today. I guess it depends on up votes it has received and continues to receive.

A... ha? That's strange, I thought they implemented that 24 hour time window!

EDIT: Indeed, I'm also overdue and still in hot today!

Because when a code famous or popular for 2 days then that code come to hot today
