How does an individual develop passion for programming?

I know many people are 'naturally' drawn to programming. It's quite fun and they enjoy it! But there are those who know that programming is what they are to do(they don't see themselves doing anything else in life career-wise), but their level of passion seems to be low and they want to grow further in it. Is there a way to generate passion? Or you either have it or you don't?

I think passion is something you either have or you don't. If you don't enjoy it wholesale are there bits that you do enjoy? Problem Solving? The end result (having made something)? Rigorous testing? There are always bits that are more fun than others, and everyone finds these different.
