I would recommend you learn basic matrix manipulation and probability as a starting point if you plan to take up software development as a career

Your question is like someone asking " how can I improve my basketball skills?". The only answer is to play ball. So in this case just solve math problems when you have time and your skill and problem solving skills will improve. I suggest you study algebra advanced as well as basic as it improves your logic and knowing how to move from step one to step 10. Programming like algebra is about steps. The steps you take to make a program, solve a problem or fix a bug. Good luck on your programming journey.

Taking a math lesson will take a lot of time, start learning to code and people here will help you with little bit of math. As a beginner keep in mind the basic arithmetic like +,-,*,/,%.

surprised nobody mentioned discrete math. As much as i hated this course in college, it will help give you the needed logical skillset to tackle most problems in software development.
