Polymorphism

I’ve read what polymorphism was, but I still don’t exactly understand it. I’ve only got to the first mention of polymorphism, in which the lesson is called, well, polymorphism. Can someone tell me what it is? (And, if you can, please tell me a real life example, or use a different, understandable example.)

Just for another example... Is clay another example? It can change shapes, and if you’re using it for a stop motion or something, it can be used to make a lot of different characters, with of course, different shapes and personalities.
