I’m starting out with Swift and I’m wondering if xCode is a good way to code games for the App Store. Is it, and if so, any tips?

Yes, it is, and the only way to code apps for iOS, actually. It's also free. Tips would be get familiar with how to use xcode first, watch the tutorials, and start playing around with test projects. Cheers.
