App on what platform? Web or pc? both languages are used to create applications. JavaScript code is executed mainly on the client side in the browser, used on the server side (node.js) as well as in other areas

C++ is widely used for software development, being one of the most popular programming languages. Its scope includes the creation of operating systems, a variety of application programs, device drivers, applications for embedded systems, high-performance servers, as well as games.

Depending on your goal. If you are going for web development go with js, but if you are trying to get in to softwere development then go with c++.
