🇮🇳Vivek🇮🇳 Indeed... people must know some basic Javascript to learn jQuery. However, most people who only work with jQuery, struggle knowing which parts are jQuery specific and moreover struggle knowing much about the essentials of Javascript, especially in regards to ES6 and up. I personally discourage people from learning jQuery because it hides so much from new developers. This is especially revealed when jQuery developers join a professional software development team and struggle to be productive when their team uses libraries that involve a virtual DOM and work with immutable, one way data flow design patterns. This approach is essentially the polar opposite of how jQuery works, which is why libraries like ReactJS clash with jQuery. Also, since jQuery is used for manipulating the DOM in browsers, it serves no value on NodeJS. While I was partially being silly with my answer, there is a bit of truth behind it. 😉

David Carroll I learned jquery after basics of javascript. People says that it is good to learn JavaScript before learning jquery. If someone learn jquery. It is obvious that he/she already knows basic javascript.
