How SoloLearn works ?
Hi, Last Night, I was challenging differents opponents in PHP. I studied as Well html gathering many people enjoying Web programs. Here we are, a new student was playing with me in PHP, where the winner get normally 1 point experience. But in fact, that’s result differs totally, I lost around thirty points. That is the point ! How the algorythm of SoloLearn works ? According your experiencing in this or that skills and your global level, Sololearn spread yours points. Overall that sounds pretty good, but why it doesn’t indicate you the real point at the beginning of every challenge, either you win or not ? Maybe, you had experiencing the same thing. Could you share for futher informations I did neglect ?

This is true. Before a challenge, it only shows you how many points you will gain for a win and not how many XP you will lose or gain if you lose the game.

This type has been answered many time. Use search bar with SoloLearn xp calculatoins. You find so many..
From one which I seen before.. My answer is:
By Gawen Steasy :
From the Sololearn FAQ:
How are XPs calculated in the Challenges?
The XPs you gain/lose are unique to each match. Calculations take the opponents' experience in corresponding language(gained xp's). We use a modified version of the Elo rating system to calculate the points for each won/lost challenge. You can learn more about the Elo rating system here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system

ok, nice ! The ELO system is quite popular about chess players and it’s, as I already said good for the challenging system of SoloLearn. But, I come back for my main interrogation, why the message displayed just before the challenge doesn’t indicate you the real point you’ll lose or win. For example, last night, the message was clear : The winner get 1 point. And finally, I lost 30 points.

If they mention, then some one only try challenging with higher experience players only,,
And also higher experience players keep on reject with less experience players due to fear to loss of more xp...

Manu that's right. The message only talks about xp for you as a winner and not what you will gain or lose if you lose the challenge and also not how much your opponent will gain if he/she wins. While it doesn't tell you the full story, you can't really call it incorrect.

For example if you have already played some challenges, then you get some experience and answer that question may be easily..
So if some newbie challenges you, who have less experience than you, then you have more chances to win..
If have some 1000xp, then opponent have less say 500xp in same perticular weapon , then he will awarded more on winning, and on loss deducted only one point and those points are transferred interchangingly.
And reverse happens if you win, that you got only one, but on lose, you lose more...
Edit:
It says only how much you earn..
If it says losing points also, then you may not try to attempt that challenge..
For regarding this what your exact point of question?
Let me know.. If it is not clear to you...

ok, that is a point I’ ve got it. I guess ELO calculate all the experience between the two players before the challenge so that it can deliver the xp you get at the end. And that is not the case. If I have to lose 30 points because the opponent is less experiencing, well, I accept it ! But SoloLearn has to mention it before the game.

yes, indeed. I understand it would make less challenging. it’s pretty unfair but allows more games for more fun :)

In old version, you can able to see ones individual xp in perticular weapon and can decide to go challenge or not.
But in new version, you can't see. That option is removed. May be this is the reason..

I would like answering to Sonic. The message before the game is : Winner get « x » xp. In fact, yes, if I won the challenge I’ll get « x » xp but in the other hand, if I lost, the winner wouldn’t get my « x » xp , he gains more or less depending on his level. So, the message is clearly incorrect for half situation.

Oh Sonic, you’re not in good faith. Word by word, the message is Winner gets « x » xp , and that’s not the case if you lost because this short text doesn’t distinct you and your opponent.
