Is C language really Useful in thia modern programming Era?

Is there any way to use C to build an application from scratch without using those old console input output techniques? If there is please provide me a link to the source code of that application
And also share your thoughts about what C language hold for future of programming

It has utility in niche areas like embedded systems, operating systems, numerical libraries etc.
