Is there any difference between .htm and .html extention

HTM is file extension of an HTML file, it is mainly used for Disk operating system (DOS) and windows also. The extension HTM is used when there is a compatibility issue with an operating system that does not takes a four-letter extension file name.

Both extensions are used for same thing, which is for creating HTML Web Pages. But in some systems like (DOS and LINUX) .htm has to be used, other than this, everything is similar.
